안녕하세요. 소월입니다. 3년 만에 인사를 드립니다.
[Symptoms of Lethargy]는 그간 제가 겪었던 ‘무기력의 증상들’에 관한 이야기입니다.
음반을 발매하기까지 정말 오랜 시간이 걸렸습니다. 부디 누군가에게는 공감과 위로가 될 수 있기를 바래봅니다. 도움 주신 많은 분들께 진심으로 감사드립니다.
Salutations. It's SOWALL. It's been long three years since the last drop.
"Symptoms of Lethargy," as this work is called, is a collection of stories about powerlessness. It aims to empathize and uplift. I am deeply grateful to all who brought this project to fruition.
1. TRAPT (함정)
생각이라는 것이 어쩌면 대부분 그럴지도 모르겠지만, 너무 오랜 시간 쓸모없는 무언가들에게 하나뿐인 나를 빼앗기기도 했었다. 기억은 점점 흐리멍텅해지고, 판단은 더 어두워졌다.
나는 스스로 만든 함정에 빠졌고, 그 사실을 한참 뒤에야 알았다.
Maybe it's true of thinking in general, but I kept finding myself swirling around there, wandering aimlessly. Memories cloudy-fading, decisions became difficult.？
I was in a trap of my own devising, but time had passed once I realized.
2. LETHARGY (무기력)
시간은 가늘고 늘 어렵다. 무너지는 것은 나뿐일까?
그냥 죽게 내버려 두자.
Time is thin, always insurmountable. Am I the only one breaking down?？
Maybe it's best to let it perish.
3. GAZE (시선)
좋아하는 것들을 생각해 내는데 너무 많은 시간이 걸린다. 나를 향한 사람들의 어수선한 말소리만 귓가를 맴돈다. 다른 사람의 시선으로 나를 바라본다. 내 눈으로 바라보는 나를 언제쯤 만나볼 수 있을까. 텅 빈 말들이 춤춘다.
It takes longer and longer to kindle what I love. Only murmurs swim around me.
I see myself through the eyes of the others. When will "I" see myself? Empty words dance.
4. FLAME (꽃)
현실을 부정하며 추하게 늙는다. 젊음은 그걸 알지 못한다.
Grace fading, ugly and old. Youth remains ignorant.
5. PROGRAMMKINO (독립영화)
솔직하고 꾸밈없는 독립영화 한편을 보았다. 색은 오색빛깔 찬란한데, 선은 굵고 선명했다.
마음에 많이 남았다. 진짜 내 이야기를 음악으로 만들어야지. 그러다 보면 점점 더 내 마음의 소리를 들을 수 있게 되겠지.
Saw a sincere, unadorned indie film. Chromatic shades, with lines bold and vivid.
It lingered in my heart. I will tell my story in music, what I truly am. Perhaps only then, I'll hear the sounds of my heart, little by little.？
